Losing The Weight by Faith

180 lbs. That’s the goal. My current weight as I write this is 346.2 lbs which is 1 lb less than yesterday (Day 1 of this journey). 376 lbs (my highest weight) was what I weighed when my Mom died suddenly of colon cancer. 272 lbs was my weight my Freshman year of high school, yes high school :-(. I actually made the dance team that year (same weight) but got cut the following season, when the image of the team was being re-branded. 135 lbs, my weight in 5th grade when I discovered that everyone thought I was an adult. I have always known in each stage of life, exactly how much I weighed.

Fatfaith.com is not about weight loss. It is about my journey of increasing my faith in GOD and His promises, so that I will see the manifested blessing unmistakably evident in all areas of my life. I just decided to start with weight loss. Why not? I have been battling this my whole life, and I want results. Wouldn’t you? Of course, you would. Since GOD can do all things, I decided that He can help me lose weight.

The Bible (which I will from now on refer to as the Word) says in Hebrews 10:38, “The just shall live by faith.” The definition of live being to have an exciting and fulfilling life. I feel we should be having an exciting and fulfilling life by faith. Matthew 19:26 says, “With GOD, all things are possible.” In light of those two verses, I began to ask myself, how can I create a fulfilling life? The answer came to me; by faith. By developing Fat (meaning to have a large amount of) faith! So fatfaith.com was birthed to chronicle the journey of how to build fat faith to live an exciting and fulfilling life.

Ironically, I intend to first build fat faith in efforts to lose the weight by faith (the title of this blog post). If weight is not your issue, first let me say congratulations! However, I encourage you to substitute whatever is missing in your life, that developing fat faith can help you obtain, so you can have a more fulfilling life.  I certainly do not intend to stop at weight loss. Oh no friends! My fulfillment by faith included travel, my husband, a business, and many other things. All of which I will build my fat for. For the next 12 months, listed below are the areas I feel GOD leading me to grow by faith:

  1. Working with Excellence
  2. Eating Healthfully
  3. Exercising Consistently
  4. Dating GOD’S Way
  5. Managing My Finance & Building Wealth

I know it is quite a list.  All that in 12 months? Yes. GOD is a big GOD and He can do exceedingly, abundantly, more than I can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). So why not ask for everything? No reason not to. I have made progress so far, but there is plenty of work to do and I am glad that I have you to hold me accountable. Each one of these tasks will need Fat Faith to accomplish.

Recently, I realized that GOD desires to do life with me. He also wants to add his supernatural power to our partnership will I undertake the tasks He has commanded me to do. My part is not easy but it is simple. I just have to build my faith and give Him my best effort. Everything else He will do. James 2:26 says, “Faith without works is dead (fruitless).” So all I have to do is build my faith, apply that faith, give my best effort (works), and expect results.

I am so excited! I am entering in an exciting season of life. I will share how GOD takes my faith and works adds His power to manifest real results in my life. It is my hope that you take this journey with me for whatever results you seek in your life. Together we can support each other in living a great life by faith.

P.S.- I woke up the day after this post and my new weight is 343.0! I am down 3.2 pounds. Yay!

I am like you, I love and desire to be loved. I hope, dream, feel, cry and I long to have my dreams realized. It is my objective to speak with passion, love, and truth. Living a life of love (my life’s goal) is the single most challenging initiative that I know of. Also, it is the most rewarding ambition. The mandate is clear. The task is at hand. It takes building an enormous amount of faith to get anything accomplished in this life. So let’s do it together! When I am not writing about faith, hope, or love, you can find me braving the winds of Chicago, sipping on a delicious cup of tea, while snuggling up with my favorite book. Or, of course, shopping for shoes.
